Project Based

Not every organization needs an ongoing grant pipeline.

Sometimes you just need help with a big opportunity or a one-time submission. Our Project Plans give you a full grant team (research, writing, and management included) for federal grants, complex foundations, or high-stakes proposals, with the same expertise and brand-aligned quality as our monthly plans, minus the long-term commitment.

Grant Llama Difference

More Grants. Less Overhead. See the Difference.

Hiring in-house means limited output and high costs. Freelancers are cheaper but unpredictable, hard to align on voice, and rarely deliver reporting. With Grant Llama, you get a full grant engine (research, writing, and strategy) for less than the price of a single salary.

09 / FAQ

Common questions from nonprofit leaders.

Have a question that’s not covered here? Reach out and we’ll point you in the right direction.

How do you measure success, submissions or dollars won?

Both. Submissions are what we control end to end, so we guarantee them by tier. Dollars won and win rates depend on funder decisions, organizational fit, and factors outside any writer's hands. What we can promise is that every submission is high-fit, mission-aligned, and written to give your organization the strongest possible shot. On the discovery call we can walk through what we have seen across similar organizations and what a realistic funding trajectory looks like for you.

How do your writers learn and hold our voice?

Every engagement starts with a deep read of your past materials, mission language, and program narratives. Your assigned grant specialists work with you on the first few proposals until the voice is locked, and voice guidance gets refined every quarter as we learn what wins for you. For work where political framing and nuance matter, that discovery process is where we spend the most time.

How much of the drafting is AI versus human?

Every proposal is written by an expert human grant specialist. AI accelerates our team on research, matching, and first-pass structure. Framing, voice, argument, and final craft are always human. We tell you that the same way we tell every client, no ghost robots.

Can you work with organizations whose funding comes from specialized international or advocacy funders?

Our matching engine performs strongest with foundations, corporate giving programs, and federal, state, and local grants that report to public databases. For organizations whose funding comes largely from private, invitation-only, or international human rights and advocacy funders, our matching adds less value on discovery, though our writing, submission management, and reporting services still apply. On the discovery call we will tell you honestly where we can move the needle and where we cannot.

Can we speak to current clients before signing?

Yes. Once we confirm we are a mutual fit on the discovery call, we introduce you to current clients whose profile is closest to yours, and you can speak with them directly.

How long does onboarding take?

Onboarding moves as fast as we can get your materials and map your funding landscape, usually a matter of weeks before submissions start going out.

How involved do I need to be?

Less than you are now, but not zero. We bring you the grants we think are worth pursuing and why, you give the go-ahead, and we review the first few proposals together until you are comfortable letting us run with them. After that you are mostly approving and reviewing, not writing proposals or chasing deadlines.

What happens after the discovery call?

If we are a fit, we move into onboarding. If we are not, you still leave with a preview of your funding landscape, complimentary and no strings attached.

Where does our data live?

On infrastructure built in-house to enterprise security standards. Grant Llama's platform is architected by our co-founder and CTO, David Langlands, a career security executive with senior leadership at IBM Security and Secureworks. Your organizational data does not sit in a public AI tool.
